About Laura Braziel

Counseling is more than a profession to me; it is a calling.

Since 2008, I have had the privilege of providing support, guidance, and care to individuals throughout the Houston area from many different backgrounds. Before entering private practice, I gained experience working in hospitals and treatment programs, where I witnessed the profound impact that mental health challenges and traumatic life experiences can have on individuals and their loved ones. I have also seen this impact among family and friends, deepening my understanding of the courage it takes to seek support and begin the healing process.

My heart is to create a place of hope and healing where adolescents and adults can feel safe in their minds and bodies, work through painful experiences, and move toward greater connection, resilience, and wholeness. 

My personal faith is rooted in Christian values and guides the way I approach my work—with integrity, humility, and respect for every person I serve. I am committed to providing ethical, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care to individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and belief systems.

For clients who desire to incorporate their Christian faith into the counseling process, I welcome the opportunity to support that aspect of their healing journey. At the same time, I deeply respect each client's personal values, spiritual beliefs, and individual experiences, ensuring that therapy remains centered on their goals and what is most meaningful to them.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our Labrador retriever, family, and friends. I value giving back to the community through volunteer work, including participating in pet-assisted therapy visits with my dog and fostering animals through a local rescue organization. These experiences reflect the compassion and connection that also guide my work as a therapist.
